WATCH: ‘Kingdom Hearts III’ Final Battle Trailer Released

Disney and Square Enix surprised fans Monday morning by releasing the “Final Battle Trailer” to their upcoming (and long-awaited) “Kingdom Hearts III.”

The release comes as videos are circulating online of gameplay taken from an early and unauthorized release of the game. Copies of the game were reportedly sold on Facebook, more than a month ahead of the game’s January 29, 2019 release date, allowing some to capture and post video from the game.

A trailer and cover art was released back in September, with few revelations coming since then.

Kingdom Hearts III director Tetsuya Nomura took to Twitter on Sunday to ask fans not to share the gameplay videos. He also said that the game’s biggest spoilers are not even in the game – yet.

“The game’s epilogue and secret movie, which are the biggest spoilers in this game, are planned to be released at a later date just in case, so they will not be shown before the game’s release,” Nomura said in the tweet.

He also asked for fans to help maintain the coming surprises in the game. “We want everyone to be able to equally experience the full game after its release, so we ask for your continued support on this matter,” he said in the tweet, posted below.

Later, Nomura revealed that the “Final Battle Trailer” was being released Monday morning.

A short time later, the full “Kingdom Hearts III” trailer was posted.
