‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 Gets a Release Date and First Teaser

We now know when Game of Thrones is returning for a final season – and we even have a teaser trailer!

HBO has announced that the eighth season of Game of Thrones will premiere on April 14 – with the first of what is being described as six movies. Each of the six episodes, it has been confirmed, will run for more than the usual hour, giving each a feature-length, epic feel worthy of the home stretch of the greatest TV show ever.

The first teaser for season eight premiered on HBO Sunday night before the premiere of True Detective season three, and features an ominous foreboding to what actors have described as a brutal final season. “The last season seemed to be designed to break us,” actor Kit Harington (Jon Snow) said in an interview.
