WATCH: Mark Hamill Plays Cowboy on ‘The Great Space Coaster’ in 1981

If you’re a member of the original Star Wars generation, you might remember “The Great Space Coaster,” a syndicated childrens show that ran from 1981 to 1986.

The show was created by Kermit Love, an original Muppet designer and collaborator with Jim Henson. The show, set on a far-away asteroid, featured a number of strange puppet characters (remember Gary Gnu?) and the occasional celebrity guest.

In 1981, fresh off of his appearance in The Empire Strikes Back, Mark Hamill appeared on the show, throwing everything into a sketch in which he is given advice to “change his image cheap.”

At one point, Hamill dons a cowboy hat and starts talking like a cowpoke, flashing his voice acting ability that he put to good use later in his career.

Here’s the video clip featuring Hamill. This video includes the entire one-hour episode, but it is cued right to his appearance.
