The unproduced Last Starfighter figures from Galoob!

I’m a huge fan of The Last Starfighter, and even I didn’t know that in 1984, Galoob had planned an extensive line of action figures from the film. Thanks to the folks at PlaidStallions.com, however, we have the photographic evidence.

The figures, for the most part, look incredible. The aliens are nearly perfect, but the humans – particularly Alex and Maggie – leave a bit to be desired. It doesn’t appear as if any ships were planned, which is odd, because a Gunstar ship would have blown my mind. Galoob also planned to release the figures in two packs rather than individually, which is an interesting choice.

We posted a picture here to whet your appetite, but you really need to click right here and see all the great pictures and info Plaid Stallions has on their site. You’ll really enjoy it.
