Photo of Latino Superhero Cosplayers Goes Viral

A picture of three superheroes with a Latino twist has gone viral, and made minor celebrities of the cosplayers involved. Erik Lopez was attending WonderCon in Los Angeles recently, dressed as “Captain Mexico,” a spin on Captain America and an answer to Donald Trump’s comments on Mexicans and immigrants. Sporting a green and white uniform and the Mexican flag on his shield, “Captain Mexico” donned a sombrero, a machete, and a Donald Trump pinata.

As luck would have it, Lopez ran into brothers Charlie DeLira-Zepeda, who was cosplaying as “Super Cholo,” and Junior DeLira-Zepeda, who was in costume as “Vato Man.” A picture was taken and posted online, and the rest is cosplay history.
