Did Topps just curse the Cubs’ World Series hopes?

We all know how Cubs fans are about curses. The Billy Goat and Steve Bartman are only the beginning of unfortunate circumstances for the Chicago Cubs as they try to win their first World Series title in over a century.
So why, then, did sport card maker Topps decide it would be a good idea to post the following on Facebook late last week, promoting a new Cubs card set? The post, claiming the Cubs were “on the cusp” of winning the title, was posted around Friday, it appears. Who in their right mind claims victory two games into the World Series?
Since Topps posted the announcement, the Cubs have gone 0-2 in the series, and have scored only 2 runs. We aren’t big on curses ourselves, but in the case of all things baseball, you never take chances. Especially not with the Cubs.
