Danny Boyle Drops Out as Director of “Bond 25′
Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle has dropped out as director of the next James Bond film, citing “creative differences.”
The announcement was made today via the official James Bond Twitter account. “(Producers) Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig today announced that due to creative differences Danny Boyle has decided to no longer direct Bond 25,” the tweet said.
Boyle, who directed both Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting, was due to begin production on the film in December at England’s legendary Pinewood Studios. It was initially given a release date of October 25, 2019. The film will be Craig’s fifth – and final – outing as James Bond, preceded by Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.
Boyle had previously directed a Bond short film featuring Craig, as well as the Queen, for the 2012 London Olympics.
