New ‘Solo’ Figures Are Coming – Here’s How to Get Them

Wave 4 of Hasbro’s Star Wars ‘Force Link’ figures hits toy store shelves (but not you, Toys R Us) later this month, offering up more of the key characters from the Solo film.

The Force Link figures make up the “basic” line of Star Wars figures, usually with five points of articulation (5POA) and a lower price point than the Black Series or Vintage Collection lines. With Solo now on Blu-ray and Digital HD, Hasbro is capitalizing on what is likely to be high interest by releasing more Solo figures in wave 4. The figures included in wave 4 are almost all from the Solo film, including Young Han Solo, who finally gets a 3 3/4″ release on a single card. However, it is Han in his “Mudtrooper” outfit and not his standard look – those figures are still only available as a pack-in with the Millennium Falcon and Landspeeder vehicles. Note to Hasbro: in case you’re wondering why the Solo figures didn’t sell very well, it’s because kids and collectors could not get the core characters (Han, Chewbacca, and Lando) on single cards in the basic “Force Link” line from day one. Not only is regular Han still not available, neither is Lando.

Hasbro is rounding out the line with wave 4, offering figures of Rio Durant, Tobias Beckett, Val, and L3-37. Quay Tolsite is included as well, as is one original trilogy character: the Emperor’s Royal Guard.
