One of the Cast Members of ‘ALF’ Has Died (VIDEO)

Max Wright, who played the father on the beloved 80’s sitcom ALF, has died at the age of 75.

The actor died Wednesday at his home in Hermosa Beach, California, in the Los Angeles area, according to a report by TMZ. His family confirmed his passing was due to cancer.

Wright played Willie Tanner, the head of a family that takes in a cat-eating alien named ALF. The show ran for four seasons, from 1986 to 1990 on NBC.

He had reportedly battled cancer for years, after being first diagnosed with Lymphoma in 1995. He beat cancer then, and had been in remission for years before it returned.

Wright is also known for roles in dozens of shows like “Buffalo Bill,” “Cheers,” “Misfits of Science,” “Dudley” and “Norm.”

His film credits include Grumpier Old Men, The Shadow, Reds, and All That Jazz.

His former co-star, comedian Norm Macdonald, paid tribute to him on Twitter.
