BREAKING: Two ‘Halloween’ Sequels Announced (Trailer)

Universal Pictures surprised horror fans today by releasing a teaser trailer (of sorts) announcing titles and release dates for two Halloween sequels.

Last year’s Halloween, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and directed by David Gordon Green, became the highest-grossing installment in the classic horror franchise. It earned over $250 million worldwide at the box office, and now, we know the story will continue.

Universal Pictures today announced release dates for two new films in the series, from Trancas International Films, Miramax and Blumhouse Productions.

The announcement was made in a video, which some might call a teaser trailer. It is included below.

The first sequel, HALLOWEEN KILLS, will be released on Friday, October 16, 2020.

The second sequel, HALLOWEEN ENDS, will be released on Friday, October 15, 2021.

Halloween Kills is written by David Gordon Green & Danny McBride & Scott Teems, and based on characters created by John Carpenter and Debra Hill. The film will be directed by David Gordon Green and produced by Malek Akkad, Jason Blum and Bill Block. John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jeanette Volturno, Couper Samuelson, Danny McBride, David Gordon Green and Ryan Freimann will serve as executive producers. Ryan Turek will oversee both sequels for Blumhouse.

Halloween Ends is written by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride, and Paul Brad Logan and Chris Bernier, based on characters created by John Carpenter and Debra Hill. The film will be directed by David Gordon Green and produced by Malek Akkad, Jason Blum and Bill Block. John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jeanette Volturno, Couper Samuelson, Danny McBride, David Gordon Green and Ryan Freimann are executive producers.
