BREAKING: Original ‘Jurassic Park’ Cast Reuniting for ‘Jurassic World 3’

Universal Studios confirmed months of speculation and rumors early Wednesday morning when they announced original Jurassic Park stars Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum are reuniting for Jurassic World 3, which begins production next year.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are also returning, and Colin Trevorrow is back in the director’s chair.

According to Deadline, Laura Dern made the first announcement Tuesday night at a screening of the Jurassic World short film “Battle at Big Rock.”

Universal then followed up with an official announcement on their social media, including Twitter. “They’re back. Welcome to Jurassic World Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler & Ian Malcom,” the announcement read. It also included the hashtag #2021, the expected release year for the film.

Earlier this year, Bryce Dallas Howard seem to confirm rumors of the trio’s return, but it wasn’t confirmed by the studio until now.

In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, a number of dinosaurs were released onto the American mainland, sending the world into disarray as modern civilization had to adapt to no longer being at the top of the food chain.

The “Battle at Big Rock” short gives us a glimpse of what we may see in the third film, which could explain why dinosaur experts Alan, Ellie, and Ian are needed once again.

In case you missed it, here’s the short.
