Bruce Willis is John McClane – AGAIN – in a New DieHard Battery Commercial (VIDEO)

If you’ve been underwhelmed with the last two Die Hard movies, Bruce Willis is hoping to win you back as a fan. And hopefully sell you a car battery.

Advance Auto Parts has released a new commercial starring Willis as John McClane, the world’s unluckiest cop. It’s all to promote their line of DieHard car batteries, now available at Advance Auto Parts and Carquest locations nationwide.

DieHard batteries had been owned and sold exclusively by Sears stores for decades, but when the retail chain filed for bankruptcy in 2018, their major assets were put up for sale. Last year, Advance Auto Parts bought the DieHard brand from Sears for $200 million.

With DieHard batteries now hitting stores, Advance Auto Parts is pulling out all the stops to promote it. That includes bringing back Bruce Willis, as well as Die Hard alumni De’voreaux White as Argyle the limo driver and Clarence Gilyard Jr as Theo, the terrorist computer hacker in a two-minute commercial dropping John McClane into another fight for survival as e tries to change his battery.

Here’s how Advance Auto Parts is describing the new commercial.

A new chapter in the DieHard story begins. Watch as John McClane faces off against old foes and crosses paths with old friends. From fighting his way to Advance Auto Parts to racing against the clock to install his new DieHard Battery – McClane will stop at nothing, to start his car again. DieHard is Back – now available at Advance Auto Parts and Carquest.
