Baby Yoda Leads Promotional Drive to Encourage Reading

Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, is joining up with the American Library Association to promote reading and support libraries.

The star of the Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian is featured in several new products offered by the American Library Association (ALA). The products, which include a poster and bookmark featuring Baby Yoda, are available for sale on the ALA website. Baby Yoda is the latest subject of the ALA’s popular series of “READ” posters, which have hung in libraries and classrooms for over 30 years.

The American Library Association is a 501c3 non-profit, and proceeds from the sale of the poster and bookmark will fund advocacy, awareness, and accreditation programs for library professionals worldwide.

In the past, Star Wars characters Yoda, C3PO, and R2D2 have been featured on READ posters.

“Baby Yoda is one of the biggest stars in the galaxy – and we’re thrilled to feature such a beloved character in one of ALA’s most recognized campaigns,” ALA President Julius Jefferson, Jr. said. “We hope that library supporters, Star Wars fans, and others will use this poster and bookmark to inspire minds to discover the vast resources libraries offer. Special thanks to Disney-Lucasfilm Press for their continued generous support of libraries.”

Posters, which measure 34″ by 22″, can be ordered or $18 each. A lot of 100 bookmarks can be ordered for $9.
