Pro Set Is Back – With a Card For Just One Player

If you collected football cards in the 1980s and 90s, you likely remember Pro Set NFL cards. They were the colorful, innovative trading cards that became an overnight sensation, only to crash spectacularly within a few years.

Despite their overproduction, multiple error cards, and their lack of current value, Pro Set cards still enjoy a certain level of nostalgia and collectability among die-hard fans.

That may be why, for the first time in nearly 30 years, Pro Set is returning with a new card – a single card.

Leaf Trading Cards is bringing back the Pro Set brand – and the classic 1989 design – for a special Trevor Lawrence rookie card. Lawrence, the former Clemson quarterback, is expected to be the #1 pick in the NFL Draft on April 29. The Jacksonville Jaguars have the top pick.

The 2021 Pro Set Trevor Lawrence is a “print to order” card offering – Leaf will only print as many cards that are ordered between now and their deadline of February 28. No additional copies will be made after that time.

The cards won’t be cheap. They cost $7.99 each, but Leaf does offer quantity discounts. Ten or more cards will cost $4.99 each, and twenty or more cards will drop the price to $3.99 each. Leaf will announce the print run of this card soon after the order deadline. The cards will feature high gloss on both sides.
