The First Trailer for ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Has Arrived

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally getting back on track, with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings trailer helping to kick off Phase Four of films and shows.

Based on the 1973 comic book, not much is known about the film, except that it involves the real Mandarin, not the fake Mandarin portrayed by Ben Kingsley in Iron Man 3. An official description describes the plot with “When Shang-Chi is drawn into the clandestine Ten Rings organization, he is forced to confront the past he thought he left behind.” That doesn’t provide much insight, and that is pretty much the plot you get from the trailer, included below.

The film stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, a martial artist trained since childhood to be an assassin by the mysterious group The Ten Rings. Awkwafina starsas Katy, Shang-Chi’s friend, and Tony Leung plays Wenwu, aka The Mandarin, Shang-Chi’s father and the leader of the Ten Rings.

Also starring in the film are Fala Chen as Jiang Li, Meng’er Zhang as Xialing (Shang-Chi’s estranged sister), Florian Munteanu as Razor Fist, Ronny Chieng as Jon Jon, and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan. It should be noted that this is not the same role that Yeoh portrayed in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (that was Ravager Aleta Ogord).

Here is the trailer.
