Tom Welling Confirms a ‘Smallville’ Animated Sequel is in Development (Must-See Video)
Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum are teaming up on an animated sequel to their hit series “Smallville,” according to a new video by Welling that made its way onto social media.
The revelation came in a Cameo video he created for a fan, which was subsequently posted on Twitter (and included below). In it, he details that he and Rosembaum are in the early stages of development on the series.
“Michael Rosenbaum and I are actually working on an animated series to bring those characters back to life, and use as many of the original cast members as possible,” he says in the video. “Don’t tell anybody, though. It’s a secret, we’re still working on it.”
Welling, of course, played Clark Kent in 217 episodes over ten seasons. Rosenbaum won wide acclaim for his portrayal of Lex Luthor in the series.
Here’s the video, posted on Twitter by @blurayangel.
Neither Welling nor Rosenbaum have commented on the video or the possible series.
While the possibility of other “Smallville” actors returning is enticing, it seems likely one of them won’t be Alison Mack, who played Chloe on the series. She is currently awaiting sentencing in the NXIVM sex cult trial.
