Temuera Morrison Gets A Gaffi Stick – And Put On A Show (VIDEO)

Temuera Morrison, Boba Fett himself, was given an honorary gaffi stick by a Star Wars fan group this past weekend, and you must see the video, posted below.

The presentation took place at the Supanova Comicon held this past weekend in Queensland, Australia. Morrison was given the gaffi stick by the Sons of Obi-Wan Saber Academy in Central Coast, Australia. The group was initially founded by teacher Luke Boyton to teach lightsaber skills, as well as life skills, to kids with autism through the concept of theater combat. They have since expanded lessons to all ages and abilities. They also make lightsabers (available on their website) and gaffi sticks!

Boyton and the Sons of Obi-Wan travel to conventions around Australia, and often present honorary sabers to attending celebrities who have made a positive impact on fandom. In the video below, Boyton speaks highly of Temuera Morrison and his 1994 film, Once Were Warriors. He says the film had a profound effect on him personally. To thank him, the Sons of Obi-Wan presented him with an honorary gaffi stick, which Morrison happily accepted. He then used it to demonstrate some impressive Maori-inspired combat strikes, just like those he performed in The Book of Boba Fett.

Here’s the video.

Morrison’s Career

Morrison started his career in Australian TV and film. He then moved on to American films with roles in Barbed Wire, Six Days, Seven Nights (with Harrison Ford), Speed 2: Cruise Control, and Vertical Limit. His role as Jango Fett (and the subsequent Clone Troopers) in the Star Wars prequel films Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith made him instantly recognizable worldwide.

He has since appeared in Green Lantern, Disney’s Moana, Aquaman, and Dora and the Lost City of Gold. He will next be seen in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and The Flash. Disney/Lucasfilm have not announced if there will be a second season of The Book of Boba Fett. Given the events of season one, however, it seems he will likely be seen in season three of The Mandalorian.
