‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Finally Releases a Trailer
Check out the trailer for Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder, due in theaters on July 8!
Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is back and looking like he’s back in shape. He’s ready to leave his days of fighting behind, but a new villain is threatening the universe, and he’s a god-killer named Gorr (played by Christian Bale). We don’t actually see Gorr in the trailer, but we get a hint at the devastation he can dish out. We also get plenty of looks at the returning cast looking to help Thor out.
Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and the Guardians of the Galaxy are back, and the man-crush between Peter Quill and Thor is played up to full effect. Korg (Taika Waititi, who is directing again) is around for this adventure, as is King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), who looks absolutely bored to tears as the leader of New Asgard. We also get a quick from-behind shot of Zeus (Russell Crowe), although how he fits into the storyline and how much he appears in the film remains to be seen.
The trailer ends with the not-too-surprising shot of Natalie Portman’s Jane wielding Mjolnir as the new Thor, which was revealed back when Portman was announced as returning to the series. Although Portman herself seems only three feet tall (just a guess), her arms look super buff, which is impressive.
