The Teaser Trailer for Rob Zombie’s ‘The Munsters’ Has Arrived
Get ready to head back to Mockingbird Lane! The first trailer for The Munsters reboot is here, and it’s directed by horror master Rob Zombie!
Zombie has been a Munsters fan all of his life, and was eager to adapt the classic 60s series, in which a Gothically strange family tries to fit into American suburbia, oblivious to how different they really are. Zombie had previously announced, as the trailer shows. that the movie will remain faithful to the look and tone of the original series, and will be a family-friendly, PG-rated film, a first for him. A release date has not been announced, only that it is coming later this year.
The film stars Jeff Daniel Phillips (Westworld) as Herman, Sheri Moon Zombie (The Lords of Salem) as Lilly, and Daniel Roebuck (Lost) as Grandpa Munster. Also in the cast are Jorge Garcia (Lost) as Floop, Dr. Wolfgang’s hunchback assistant and Herman’s best friend; Richard Blake (The Mandalorian) as Dr. Wolfgang, and Sylvester McCoy (Dr. Who, The Hobbit) as Igor. The original Marilyn from the 60s series, Pat Priest, will also appear in the film, as will Elvia herself, Cassandra Petersen.
Zombie has directed some of the most popular horror flicks in recent years, including The Devil’s Rejects, the 2007 Halloween reboot, 3 From Hell, and 31.
