The ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Playset You Always Wanted Is Finally Here
Fans of Mattel’s original “Battlestar Galactica” toy line have an all new reason to get excited: a fan-made playset that would look right at home on the shelves of a 1979 Toys R Us. And you can buy one for yourself.
The original Galactica toy line was short-lived and unsuccessful, but it retains a strong following from hard-core fans. While there are some great-looking figures (if we’re just counting the aliens and Cylons) and some nice sips, there was never a playset for the figures to call home.
Ebay seller Cardboardagitprop, who makes custom cardboard playsets for classic figure lines, has filled that missing gap for fans with a “Battlestar Galactica Bridge Playset,” which replicates the 70s feel of the show all the way down to the orange carpet.
The set even includes a command level for Adama to stand watch, as well as a display screen identical to the one seen in the show.
The playset even comes in a corrugated box with artwork similar to the original Mattel packaging.
