Meet the ‘New Agents of Bond’ in This ‘No Time To Die’ Featurette
Lashana Lynch and Ana de Armas are the focus of a new promotional featurette on the newest agents to join James Bond in Bond 25: No Time to Die.
Lynch plays Nomi and de Armas plays Paloma in the film, who join forces with Daniel Craig’s 007 in his final adventure.
The film finds Bond retired and living a tranquil life in Jamaica. When CIA agent Felix Lester, comes to him for help, he takes on a mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist. Things turn out to be more treacherous than expected, however, and Bond finds himself on the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
No Time to Die also stars Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux, Christoph Waltz, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, and Ralph Fiennes as M. The film is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, who also directed It.
Lynch’s Nomi is a 00 agent who becomes a bit of a rival for Bond, believing 007 to be a relic of the past. In the featurette, Lynch says the film represents “change,” and women are shown in positions of strength. That seems to play into concerns of fans that the movie will marginalize Bond in order to embrace “woke” culture. Those fans point out that strong women have always been present in the Bond franchise, dating back to its earliest films.
Here’s the featurette.
The film opens only in theaters on October 8, 2021.
