WATCH: Carrie Fisher Gets Her Hollywood Walk of Fame Star
Carrie Fisher finally received her long-overdue star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on May the 4th, with daughter Billie Lourd and Mark Hamill in attendance.
Fisher received the 2,754th star on the Walk of Fame, in the category of Motion Pictures. The star is located near the historic El Capitan Theatre, 6840 Hollywood Boulevard. She joins her fellow Star Wars actors Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford, who already have stars on the Walk of Fame. Her star will only be a few feet away from Hamill’s star, and across the street from the star of her mother, Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds.
Fisher made her film debut in the 1975 film Shampoo, and then achieved pop culture immortality playing Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy. She would go on to star in the films When Harry Met Sally, Hannah and Her Sisters, and The Blues Brothers. She also appeared on television in Laverne & Shirley, Sex and the City and 30 Rock, a role that won her an Emmy nomination. She also wrote six books, including Postcards from the Edge.
Here is video of the unveiling ceremony for Carrie’s Walk of Fame star, with speeches from both Billie and Mark included.
