First Look at Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft

It was announced recently that the Tomb Raider movies will be rebooted following the recent success of the video game reboots. Not much has been said about the movie other than it will be starring Alicia Vikander as Lara, Walton Goggins (Six, Justified) and Father Mathias and Dominic West (300, The Wire) as Lord Richard Croft. Other news is that Roar Uthaug (The Wave, Escape) will be directing the film and newcomer Geneva Robertson-Dworet will be writing the script.

From the pictures and the announcement of Father Mathias being the villain, it sounds like the movie will be based off the recent games. Unfortunately with the “curse” video game movies have of being pretty…subpar…many aren’t really holding their breath with this one. But so far, the costume is pretty true to the source and Alicia looks the part. We will definitely be following this movie to see where it’s headed.

The untitled Tomb Raider movie is scheduled to release on March 18th, 2018.
