Stern Reveals New Jurassic Park Pinball Machines (VIDEO)
Stern Pinball has announced a new line of pinball machines based on the classic film, Jurassic Park.
The Jurassic Park pinball machines will come in Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition models.
The game takes you back to Isla Nublar, where Jurassic Park’s dinosaurs are running loose. The player must rescue park staff and recapture the dinosaurs, all while avoiding the Raptors and the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
The Premium and Limited Edition models of the game features an animatronic ball-eating, ball-throwing T. Rex that interacts with the ball and the player. The models also include an interactive Raptor and a Raptor Pen with a motorized gate. There are numerous callbacks and “Easter Eggs” to the film on the game board, as seen in the video below. That includes unique mosquito-in-amber pop bumpers.
“Jurassic Park is a classic film featuring what everyone loves – dinosaurs! The game is designed to be easy to play, but difficult to master,” said Gary Stern, Chairman and CEO of Stern Pinball, Inc.
A press release from Stern details more about the different versions of the pinball machines.
The Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition models also feature a Jungle Adventure Vehicle target in the middle of the playfield that is a spinning Newton Ball. This kinetic target registers direct hits, determines the direction players navigate on the island during gameplay, and lights T. Rex modes. All models include three full sized flippers, four custom ramps, a spinning “Spitter” target, in-lane up/down lock post that sets up critical playfield shots and distinctive hand-drawn art highlighting iconic dinosaurs from the series.
Only 500 of the “Limited Edition” model will be made, which will have additional unique features including a sequentially numbered plaque, an exclusive mirrored backglass, exclusive custom themed cabinet artwork, a custom autographed bottom arch, exclusive custom art blades, anti-reflection pinball glass, and a shaker motor.
The pinball machine will also feature a high-definition video display and a high-fidelity 3-channel audio system three times more powerful than audio systems of previous generations.
The Pro Model will cost $5,999; the Premium Model is priced at $7,599; and the Limited Edition Model will cost $8,999. Models can be purchased from authorized Stern Pinball distributors and dealers around the world.
