Check Out The New ‘Star Wars: Resistance’ Featurette: ‘Meet Team Fireball!’ (VIDEO)

Lucasfilm has released a new featurette for their new anime-inspired series “Star Wars Resistance.” The video clip, included below, provides some background to the new characters in the show.

We already know that Poe Dameron (voiced by Oscar Isaac) and Captain Phasma (voiced by Gwendoline Christie), as well as BB-8 will appear in the series, which is set before the events in Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

“Star Wars Resistance” will introduce new characters from “Team Fireball,” who are profiled in the featurette. They include Kazuda “Kaz” Xiono, Neeku Vozo, Tam Ryvora, Jarek Yeager, and “Bucket” (R1-J5), an astromech droid.

“Star Wars Resistance” debuts Sunday, October 7 (10 p.m. EDT/PDT) on Disney Channel, DisneyNOW, and Disney Channel VOD, with subsequent airings on Disney XD.

Kaz is a young pilot recruited by the Resistance, as the featurette shows, and we also see the Colossus, a massive refueling platform on an outer rim ocean planet.

In addition to Isaac and Christie, the voice cast of “Star Wars Resistance” includes actors Christopher Sean (Days of Our Lives), Suzie McGrath (East Enders), Scott Lawrence (Legion), Myrna Velasco (Elena of Avalor), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Bobby Moynihan (DuckTales), Jim Rash (Community), and Rachel Butera (Tammy’s Tiny Tea Time).
