Walking Dead Fans Aren’t Happy After Rick Grimes’ Final Episode (SPOILERS)
Sunday evening’s episode of “The Walking Dead” was heavily promoted as the final episode for Andrew Lincoln and his iconic character, Rick Grimes.
After it was over, the reaction was mixed, to put it simply. After executive producer Scott Gimple appeared on “Talking Dead” immediately after the show, he dropped a bombshell that confused and angered fans even more.
WARNING: SPOILERS FOLLOW!
In the episode, Rick attempts to make it back home after being impaled on a piece of rebar, a large horde of zombies is right on his heels. His blood loss causes him to hallucinate, where he sees several people who passed on, including Shane, Hershel, and Sasha. He eventually makes it to the bridge that the towns had been working to reconstruct, which he blows up, in order to keep the zombie horde from reaching Alexandria and the other towns.
Michonne, Daryl, Maggie, Carol, and the rest all see Rick’s sacrifice, and believe he’s dead.
However, the episode ends with “Trash Lady” Jadis finding Rick still alive on the river’s edge downstream, she loads him on a mysterious helicopter, who whisks him off to an unknown location.
Minutes after the show ended, during the “Talking Dead” after-show, Gimple then revealed that Lincoln would appear in three Rick Grimes/Walking Dead TV movies which would air on AMC.
Many loved the episode, which admittedly, was a great episode overall. Actor Neil Kaplan voiced his approval.
If you gave up on #TheWalkingDead… you may want to come back and watch Rick’s final episode. I could be wrong, but I thought that it was a damn fine hour of Zombietainment.

It didn’t take long, however, for many to feel like they had been played, after Scott Gimple announced the TV movies.

Fans feel like they’ve been duped, which has happened before with major characters. Remember when Glen supposedly “died” in that alley as the zombies overwhelmed him?

Rick’s final episode gave us an even bigger revelation, even though it was in a preview of upcoming episodes – the zombies can talk, apparently.
Are we ignoring the fact the walkers can talk now 😧 #TheWalkingDead pic.twitter.com/gdqvKKxrC8
