FIRST LOOK: ‘Punisher’ Season 2, Indiana Jones, ‘Solo’ Coming to Netflix in January

Netflix is planning a big month this January, as it premieres a new season of The Punisher, as well as the Indiana Jones films and Solo: A Star Wars Story

The Punisher season 2 premieres in January, according to an announcement by the streaming service, but an exact premiere date was not announced. The announcement was met with mixed feelings from fans, considering Netflix’s recent announcements canceling Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage, killing off more than half of their Marvel shows.

Many fans fear that, barring amazing viewership numbers, The Punisher may be headed for the cancellation list as well. Daredevil got the axe just over a month after its premiere despite positive reviews, thanks to lackluster viewership numbers. Some fans, however, remain optimistic.

In addition to new Punisher episodes, Netflix is adding all four Indiana Jones films on January 1. The Dark Knight, The Mummy (1989), and Watchmen also join the service on the 1st.

For Star Wars fans, Solo: A Star Wars Story comes to Netflix January 9. However, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is leaving the streaming service on January 18. Star Wars: The Last Jedi remains on the service for now.

Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp premieres on the streaming service on January 29, while Pixar’s The Incredibles 2 debuts on Netflix January 30.

“The Punisher” Footage Released

Netflix released a trailer for its January releases, which included the first-ever look from The Punisher season 2.

Netflix also tweeted this animated graphic to mark the new season of The Punisher.

Even Jon Bernthal got into the act, posting a somewhat fuzzy picture from the new season on his social media, showing his character rocking two guns.
