Netflix Drops a New Punisher Trailer!
Marvel’s The Punisher returns for a second season on January 18 on Netflix, and we have a new trailer, which reveals more about the storyline that will unfold.
Although the exact plot is not yet known, it appears to involve Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) taking a young girl (Giorgia Whigham) under his protection. The girl is on the run, from a man named John Pilgrim (Josh Stewart), who dresses like a preacher and has a group of armed men at his side.
Pilgrim isn’t the only threat, as Billy Russo (Ben Barnes) is out for revenge, after Castle disfigured him in their last fight. The heavily-scarred Russo appears primed to take on the “Jigsaw” persona that made him Castle’s arch enemy in the comics.
The new season has already stirred controversy, as it was revealed that John Pilgrim is portrayed as a murderous Christian. That led to criticism that the show advances a bigoted and twisted characterization of people of faith.
