The Mother of Dragons Showed Up at a Rockets Game, and There Was Coffee (VIDEO)

“Game of Thrones” actress Emilia Clarke was in Houston, Texas for the weekend as a guest at Comicpalooza. She attended a Rockets game while there, and the team mascot took full advantage.

Clarke was in attendance for Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals, where the Rockets squared off against the Golden State Warriors. Playing off the recent “Starbucks cup” controversy, Clutch (the Rockets mascot), took to the court Friday with a coffee cup in hand.

If you missed it, a Starbucks cup found its way into last week’s episode of “Game of Thrones.” A cup of joe (although some claim it was tea) was seen on a table in clear sight. Clarke initially refused to take responsibility.

Sophie Turner, a known Starbucks drinker, refused to take responsibility as well, blaming Emilia Clarke instead.

Clarke, joining in the fun, tried to blame a former cast member. “Did I just stumble upon the truth,” she questioned when Jason Momoa came by for a visit.

With Clarke sitting courtside at the game on Friday, Clutch strolled by with coffee in hand, only to drop it when he caught sight of her. He dropped to a knee and seemed to pledge his undying loyalty, which Clarke seemed to appreciate. Even the Rockets announcer got in on the gag. See for yourself.

For what it’s worth, HBO has digitally removed the cup from the episode now showing on the channel and on demand.

While we may never know the truth of the on-set coffee cup, we do know that “Game of Thrones” (and Emilia Clarke) can be seen Sunday nights on HBO.
