‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ Unveils a Disappointing First Trailer (VIDEO)

James Cameron has returned the Terminator franchise for the first time since the 1991 classic Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

His collaboration with Deadpool director Tim Miller, titled Terminator: Dark Fate, also reunites star Arnold Schwarzenegger with Linda Hamilton, bringing back the character of Sarah Connor.

Our first look at the film, however, looks a lot like the inferior sequels we have been subjected to in recent years.

The first trailer for the film, released this morning, focuses more on new characters, including Grace (a human/Terminator hybrid played by Mackenzie Davis), Dani Ramos (a woman targeted by a Terminator, played by Natalia Reyes), and a new Terminator model (played by Gabriel Luna).

The plot itself isn’t quite clear, but it appears that Luna’s Terminator is targeting Dani Ramos, who apparently holds the key to human survival.

Sarah Connor makes a grand entrance in the trailer, but she appears to be a secondary character. Arnold Schwarzenegger only appears momentarily.

The film has already been criticized by fans for failing to spark excitement. Last August, fans were underwhelmed by the first photos from the set, none of which featured Arnold Schwarzenegger.

With Cameron doing the story and Miller directing, however, there could be a fantastic movie awaiting us.

Here’s the trailer.

Terminator: Dark Fate opens November 1, 2019.
