Mego to Release ‘Rocky’ Figure – Here’s The First Pic
Mego returned to toy shelves last year, bringing back their signature action figures from a number of classic movies, TV shows, and even celebrity icons. And now, Rocky Balboa is joining the lineup.
Although Mego itself has not announced it officially, a trade publication has revealed that the company is set to release figures from the Rocky movie series.
In the June issue of tfe Licensing, a report revealed that Mego is set to release a Rocky figure based on the first film. The figure will feature Rocky in his white boxing trunks, red gloves, and even the red robe with “Shamrock Meats” logo on it. A picture of the figure was also included.
The report did not say if the deal between MGM and Mego includes other Rocky characters. It also isn’t clear if figures from other Rocky movies are included in the deal.
The report also included a tidbit about another figure: The Mummy is hitting stores this July. It does not say if it is the Universal Monsters version of The Mummy or a lookalike.
Here’s a scan of the picture, posted to a Mego Facebook group.
A release date for the Rocky figure was not mentioned. However, but with Mego Meet coming up June 14-15 (click here for info on that), an official announcement is likely coming then.
