Watch a ‘Little Rey’ Cosplayer Take on the Empire at Disney World (VIDEO)
A video that has gone viral on social media shows a young Star Wars cosplayer standing her ground against members of the Empire at a parade at Disney World in Florida.
The video, originally posted to Instagram by user “rubysoho519,” shows a little girl named Bowie dressed as Daisy Ridley’s Rey from the new Star Wars films. She’s enjoying the character parade at Disney’s Hollywood Studios when the saga’s villains start walking by.
Bowie is seen in the video holding up her hand to use “The Force” to repel the Sith Lords, Imperial troops, and bounty hunters that pass by. Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Boba Fett, and Kylo Ren are all sent on their way.
When Rey and Chewbacca walk up, however, the reaction from “Little Rey” is different. She happily gives each a hug.
Here’s the video.
When the “Little Rey” video was posted to Twitter this week, it quickly went viral. It even caught the attention of Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill.
Hamill retweeted the video with his approval, calling Bowie a “Pint Sized UPF.” For those who may not know, “UPF” stands for “Ultra Passionate Fans.” Hamill likes to use that term of endearment for fans who have been faithful to Star Wars over the years, and made it what it is.
In just a couple of days, the tweet featuring the video was been retweeted over 10,000 times.
