New Images from ‘The Mandalorian’ Feature Gina Carano and Familiar Aliens

“The Mandalorian” doesn’t premiere until the Disney+ streaming service goes online November 12, but Entertainment Weekly is giving us a better look at the show, thanks to new images and interviews.

EW has released two exclusive images from the series, both showing the Mandalorian (played by Pedro Pascal) in action.

The first image shows the Mandalorian fighting a couple of Transdoshans. You might recognize them as the lizard-like species of the bounty hunter Bossk from The Empire Strikes Back.

Here’s the image.

The second image features Pascal again, only this time, partnered with Carano’s character as they prepare to fight an unseen enemy. Carano describes her character as “a former Shock Trooper turned mercenary.”

“She’s gone from planet to planet,” Carano says in the EW interview. “She’s a loner. She’s strong. She runs into the Mandalorian on one of these planets that she’s hiding out on and thinks that he’s there to take her in and then their relationship escalates from there.”

Obviously, the two patch things up, as they are seen here fighting side by side.

The series is set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, and is headed by showrunners Jon Favreau (The Lion King) and Dave Filoni (The Clone Wars). The show also stars Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Weathers, Taika Waititi, and Ming-Na Wen.
