‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Actor Isaiah Washington Blasts Soledad O’Brien for Mocking Black Conservatives

Isaiah Washington, the actor best known for his roles in “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The 100,” True Crime, Exit Wounds, and Out of Sight, is in the midst of a Twitter feud with former CNN host Soledad O’Brien.

In recent years, Washington has become an outspoken conservative activist, going so far as to adopt the #MAGA, #Blexit and #WalkAway hashtags in his tweets. The #WalkAway movement was established by black activists who have “walked away” from the Democratic party and embraced conservatism. The #Blexit hashtag is a take on the #Brexit hashtag, and stands for black activists who “exited” the Democratic party.

O’Brien was a host for CNN until 2013, when she was fired. She then went on to work for Al Jazeera, and now hosts a Sunday morning show on A&E. She now appears to spend much of her day on Twitter attacks Republicans, conservatives, and President Donald Trump.

The brouhaha started when Washington posted a picture of himself with other black conservative activists during a meeting in Washington.

That triggered this dismissive response from O’Brien, with a response that tried to minimize their cause.

Washington responded to O’Brien, saying she shouldn’t be so divisive. He even offered to speak to her by phone.

O’Brien responded by claiming Washington was threatening her.

When Washington learned O’Brien was blocking his supporters, he let her have it.

He also took aim at author Morgan Jerkins (who used emojis to issue racial slurs at him) and journalist Roland Martin, who laughed at his tweet.

Despite the criticism from the political left, Washington has been defiant in his stance.
