BREAKING: Jason Momoa Posts an Incredible Image from the ‘Justice League’ Snyder Cut
Friday afternoon, followers of the “Release the Snyder Cut” Twitter account got the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut trending on the social media platform after director Zack Snyder released a shot from his original cut, featuring the Flash.
In response, actor Jason Momoa posted a never-before-seen image from the Snyder Cut that set the internet on fire.
For those not following along, the “Snyder Cut” refers to the original version of Justice League that director Zack Snyder created. After Snyder and his wife, producer Deborah Snyder, stepped away from the project after the death of their daughter, the film radically changed.
Joss Whedon came aboard to finish the film, but Warner Bros. demanded changes and cuts to run under two hours. The entire focus and tone changed, and extensive reshoots changed major points in the plot.
After the film was released to lackluster reviews, word spread that Snyder’s original version of the film was far better. Fans demanded that Warner Bros. “release the Snyder cut,” and the movement began.
Snyder himself confirmed the existence of his completed cut, and actors Jason Momoa and Ciarรกn Hinds (who played the villain Steppenwolf) both confirmed the Snyder cut was the definitive, superior version of the film.
Warner Bros., however, has made it clear that Snyder’s original vision (and version) will not be released.
The hashtag trended again after Snyder himself posted an image from a deleted scene with Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) and Iris West (Kiersey Clemons). Iris West was completely cut from the theatrical version.
The image was posted on Snyder’s VERO account.
The Momoa Image
On Friday, Momoa released an image from a scene deleted from the theatrical version but in the Snyder Cut, showing his Aquaman in battle with Steppenwolf. As you can see in the image below, it appears Aquaman is running Steppenwolf through with his trident, as Wonder Woman looks on. In the background, a “boom tube” (a plot device dropped from the final cut) appears to be seen.

Here is Momoa’s Instagram post with the image, which includes the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut hashtag.
Fans loved the image, and hoped it would spur Warner Bros. to change course and release the original cut.
Warner Bros. has not responded to the image as of press time.
