Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot Demand Warner Bros. #ReleaseTheSnyderCut
Batman and Wonder Woman have officially endorsed the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement.
In tweets posted yesterday, Justice League actors Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot tweeted out the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut hashtag, which supports the release of the original cut of director Zack Snyder’s film.
After prinicipal photography was complete, Snyder and his wife, producer Deborah Snyder, stepped away during post-production after their daughter died. Afterward, the film radically changed.
Joss Whedon came aboard to finish the film, but Warner Bros. demanded changes and cuts to run under two hours. The entire focus and tone changed, and extensive reshoots changed major points in the plot.
After the film was released to mixed reviews, fans began rallying for the original cut of the film. Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Ray Fisher (Cyborg) had previously voiced their support for the original cut to be released.
Now, you can add Gadot and Affleck to the movement.
On Sunday afternoon, Gadot tweeted the hashtag.
Affleck followed suit a few hours later.
Snyder, who supports the movement to release his original vision of the film, responded to the tweets.
Warner Bros. had previously said the original version of the film would not be released.
