New Poster Confirms Porgs’ Return in ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’
Depending on who you ask, Porgs are either the cutest thing since Ewoks, or the worst example of the commercialism of the Disney Sequel Trilogy.
Either way, the feathery, tasty little beasts are coming back in Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. At least, according to the film’s latest poster.
The international one-sheet poster for the film, which features different artwork than the U.S. posters, was revealed online this week. Some eagle-eyed fans noticed a small detail in the poster, however.
Here’s the full poster image.
Now, look on the bottom left side of the poster, left of BB-8 and D-O. At the feet of Dominic Monaghan’s character is a Porg. It’s hard to make out, but that’s obviously one of the little devils.
It sort of makes sense that a Porg could appear in the film. While it is unlikely that the characters will return to the island of Ahch-To, the Porg who stowed away on the Millennium Falcon at the end of The Last Jedi may have been adopted as pets. Assuming Chewie didn’t eat them all, of course.
