‘Justice League’ Actor Ray Fisher Blasts ‘Abusive’ Director Joss Whedon

Actor Ray Fisher, who appeared in Justice League as Cyborg, is claiming that director Joss Whedon was abusive to the cast and crew on the set.

Whedon took over directing duties on the 2017 film after Zack Snyder stepped down due to a personal matter.

The film’s troubled production was already well known, as Whedon reshot much of the film, ditching many of Snyder’s ideas and rewriting part of the script. Now, it appears the problems ran even deeper.

The poor reception the film received has led to the movement to release Snyder’s original version of the film, dubbed the Snyder Cut. #ReleaseTheSnyderCut because a popular social media trend, and FIsher and the other cast members endorsed it.

Warner Bros. announced earlier this year that Snyder would complete the film as he envisioned, with a release on HBO Max.

Controversy has followed Whedon his entire career. He’s been accused of improper behavior on the set before, and he earned criticism when it was reported that he fired Charisma Carpenter from his show after she became pregnant.

His ex-wife Kai Cole called him a “hypocrite preaching feminist ideals,” and revealed he had cheated on her with multiple women during their marriage.

Whedon portrays himself as a progressive liberal who supports feminist and left-wing causes. He often tweets criticism about Republicans and President Trump.

It seemed something was brewing on Monday, when Fisher said he retracted his compliments of Whedon he gave at Comic-Con.

On Wednesday, however, he lowered the boom. “Joss Wheadon’s (sp) on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable,” he said in a tweet. “He was enabled, in many ways, by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg. Accountability>Entertainment.”

Fisher has not commented further, nor has Whedon, Warner Bros., or the other cast members commented on his tweet.
