First Images From The Mandalorian Season 2 Released
Entertainment Weekly has posted the exclusive first images from The Mandalorian Season 2, ahead of its October 30 premiere on the Disney+ streaming service.
Pedro Pascal (Din Djarin/The Mandalorian), Gina Carano (Cara Dune), and Carl Weathers (Greef Karga) are all returning for the new season. They are all featured in the new photos, as well as Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon), a Tusken Raider, and Baby Yoda (aka The Child).
Joining the cast are Rosario Dawson (Sin City), who is reportedly playing former Jedi Ahsoka Tano; Jango Fett actor Temuera Morrison, who may be playing a former Clone Trooper or Boba Fett; Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) as Bo-Katan Kryze; and both Michael Biehn (Aliens) and Timothy Olyphant (Justified) as unannounced characters.
“The first season was just the beginning of a huge story, they take the gloves off even more in season 2,” Gina Carano said in an interview for EW that accompanied the pictures.
Among the directors for season two will be Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, Robert Rodriguez (Alita: Battle Angel), and even executive producer and series co-creator Jon Favreau, who directs the season premiere.
Favreau promises this season will explore storylines that focus on more characters besides the Mandalorian and Bab Yoda, including Greef Karga. “You’ll get a chance to see him in a different light and a side of him that you didn’t see last time,” actor Carl Weathers.
