Disney+’s ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Series Adds ‘Game of Thrones’ Actress
Ewan McGregor will star alongside a “Game of Thrones” alum in the upcoming “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series for Disney+.
According to an exclusive report by Deadline, Indira Varma is joining the cast of the “Star Wars” live action series, which will reportedly begin production this spring.
Very little is known about the series’ plot or cast, except that Hayden Christensen is reprising his role as Darth Vader. The show will likely take place in the years between the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope.
Varma is best known for her role as Ellaria Sand on HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” She also appeared in the films The One and Only Ivan and Exodus: Gods and Kings and the TV series “For Life,” “Carnival Row,” and “Human Target.”
In a recent interview, McGregor said that “The Mandalorian” director Deborah Chow will direct the series. The “Obi-Wan” series will incorporate the “Mandalorian’s” StageCraft technology, which created virtual backgrounds on sets with high-resolution screens.
