It’s Mark Hamill’s Birthday!

September 25th is the birthday of Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill!

Hamill was born in Oakland, California in 1951, and made his acting debut on “The Bill Cosby Show.” He had a recurring role on “General Hospital” and various small roles until George Lucas, looking for fresh, unknown faces, cast him in the original Star Wars.

After the enormous success of the Star Wars trilogy, Hamill had roles in films including The Big Red One, Kingsman: The Secret Service, and “What We Do in the Shadows.”

He would find a second iconic role as the voice of the Joker in “Batman: The Animated Series” and in numerous additional cartoons, video games, and animated movies.

He would reprise the role of Luke Skywalker once again in Disney’s sequel trilogy and in the season two finale of “The Mandalorian.”

In this clip from March 18, 1997, Mark appeared on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” to promote the release of the Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition.

Happy birthday Mark Hamill!
