‘Return of the Jedi’ Actor Gerald Home Has Passed Away

Gerald Home, the British actor best known for playing Tessek, aka “Squid Head,” and Mon Calamari Officer Captain Verrack in Return of the Jedi has died.

Home reportedly died on Wednesday, October 6 at his home from liver cancer, his agent reported.

The 70-year-old actor was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and appeared in a number of British television and stage productions during his career. He was also the original “Mr. Muscle” in a television commercial campaign. Mr. Muscle is a popular cleaning product sold in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

Gerald Home was also a puppeteer for the “Audrey II” character in the film Little Shop of Horrors.

His appearance in Return of the Jedi (despite never showing his face) made him a popular presence at conventions for decades, where his pleasant demeanor made him a hit with fans.
