Jamie Lee Curtis Goes as Her Mother’s ‘Psycho’ Character to the ‘Halloween Kills’ Premiere (VIDEO)

Halloween Kills is now in theaters and streaming on Paramount+, and star Jamie Lee Curtis used the movie’s costume party premiere to pay tribute to her mother’s iconic horror role.

On Tuesday, Curtis dressed as her mother Janet Leigh from Alfred Hitchcock’s horror classic Psycho for the premiere of Halloween Kills at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Attendees all came in costume, but Curtis outshone everyone else with her “Marion Crane” outfit, complete with blonde wig and blue dress, while she carried a black purse and bloody shower curtain.

Halloween Kills is the twelfth film in the storied movie franchise, although not all the films are directly connected. A final sequel, Halloween Ends, is scheduled to release next year.

With the release of this new film, the 62-year-old Jamie Lee Curtis will have played Laurie Strode in six different decades, and she has a good idea why the character is still relevant after all these years.

“It’s the ultimate good versus evil,” Curtis said of the Halloween films. “Laurie Strode represents the quotidian, quintessential, innocent American teenage girl, that is innocence personified. And when you collide it with the essence of evil which is Michael Meyers, you create a tension that you, the audience member, wants to protect her.”
