WATCH: Angelina Jolie Discusses Her Role in Marvel’s ‘Eternals’
Angelia Jolie is discussing her first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with her role in Marvel’s Eternals.
Jolie talks about the “uncomfortable” first time she put on her costume, and her relationship with her fellow actors on the set. She also discusses her hopes for the film and fan expectations of the characters.
Her interview comes as early reviews for the film have been surprisingly mixed. It currently ranks as the worst-reviewed Marvel film ever, as each new review bounces it over and under the dreaded 60% positive mark, which carries a “rotten” or “fresh” label with it.
The film, directed by Chloé Zhao, follows a race of immortal beings with superhuman powers who have secretly lived on Earth for thousands of years, who then reunite to battle the evil Deviants.
Salma Hayek stars as Ajak, leader of the Eternals; Angelina Jolie stars as Thena; Richard Madden is Ikaris, Gemma Chan is Sersi; Kumail Nanjiani is Kingo; Lauren Ridloff is Makkari; Kit Harington is Dane Whitman; and Brian Tyree Henry is Phastos.
The film also stars Lia McHugh as Sprite, Ma Dong-seok as Gilgamesh, and Barry Keoghan as Druig.
