The New Trailer for ‘Picard’ Season 3 Has Arrived

A new trailer for the third season of Star Trek: Picard not only gives us actual footage from the new season, it provides a premiere date.

The anticipation for the third and final season of the Paramount+ series is building among fans, as it teases the reunion they hoped for ever since the series was announced: the crew of the Enterprise getting back together. While some of the Next Generation crew did appear in guest-starring roles in the first two seasons, they didn’t factor too greatly in storylines. Brent Spiner, however, did get significant screen time as Data and various members of the Soong family. With the new season promising the Enterprise crew sharing a final adventure together, expectations are high.

The new season is set to premiere on February 16, and the trailer reveals an unidentified threat that is pulling the crew together, in need of a ship. Riker (Jonathan Frakes), Geordi (LeVar Burton), Worf (Michael Dorn), Beverly (Gates McFadden), and Deanna (Marina Sirtis) are all seen, and although Spiner is noticeably absent, we do know he appears this season in an unnamed role. Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) is also seen as captain of the USS Titan, giving the crew the ship they need for their mission.

As for the villain for season three, showrunner Terry Matalas had told fans that it is a new character, and is “played by someone you’ve seen a million times before. Someone I’ve always wanted to work with….You’re not ready.”

Here’s the trailer.
