BREAKING: ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ Wraps Principal Photography
Star Wars: Episode IX, the reported final film in the Skywalker saga, wrapped principal photography today, according to a tweet by director J.J. Abrams.
Abrams tweeted a picture of the film’s three leads: Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac, all embracing each other. It is not clear if the picture was taken after the final scene was filmed.
“It feels impossible, but today wrapped photography on Episode IX,” Abrams said. “There is no adequate way to thank this truly magical crew and cast. I’m forever indebted to you all.”
John Boyega, who plays the Stromtrooper-turned-rebel Finn, tweeted the same picture, with his own words of gratitude.
“That’s a wrap on Star Wars episode 9 and the end to a chapter of my life that I couldn’t be more thankful for,” he tweeted. “What a process! It really has been a joy to be in these movies surrounded by amazing people. JJ thank you for making my dreams come true.”
No other information on the end of filming has been announced. Star Wars: Episode IX opens in theaters this December.
