Disney Parks Offer a New, Exclusive Star Wars Sandcrawler Set
Disney Parks are now selling a Star Wars Sandcrawler playset compatible with the Hasbro line of action figures. Fans won’t necessarily have to go to Disneyland to get one, however.
The Sandcrawler measures an impressive 20″ long and 10″ high and comes with a Jawa and Gonk droid (or Power Droid as vintage collectors prefer) figures. The Sandcrawler itself includes a retractable claw, a light-up cockpit, motion activated sound, buttons for the light and sound effects, a trap door, a furnace with lights and sounds, and a motorized elevator.
This toy is a significant upgrade from the last Sandcrawler, which was a Previews exclusive and was merely recast from the vintage toy. It offered no electronics and some bad pack-in figures. This toy features lights and sounds to complete the experience, and some added “play” features, making it perhaps the best version of the vehicle ever released (although the original toy from the 1970s did move with radio control).
Although it is technically a Disney Parks exclusive, it comes up for sale from time to time on ShopDisney.com. It is currently unavailable, but it could be back in stock at any time. At $99, we think it’s well worth the coin.
