Celebrate John Williams’ Birthday by Listening to His Best Movie Scores (VIDEO)
John Williams, the man who brought us some of the most iconic movie scores, is celebrating a birthday today, having been born February 8, 1932.
Williams’ work is beyond incredible, with music including the original “Lost in Space” TV show, Jaws, E.T., Harry Potter, the theme from The Olympics, Home Alone, and Saving Private Ryan.
Star Wars, of course, may be his most recognizable work.
In this video, the Los Angeles Philharmonic pays tribute to Williams (who is in attendance) with this medley, including the “Throne Room” theme and “Luke” theme.
“The Imperial March” from The Empire Strikes Back is perhaps even more iconic.
His theme for the 1978 Superman film has come to personify the character, even outside of the film.
There is, of course, the theme to the Indiana Jones films.
This video features what the creator considers to be Williams’ ten most beautiful compositions for films.
All the best to Mr. Williams!
