Marvel Acts Quickly After Leaving Danai Gurira’s Name Off ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Poster

Along with the release this morning of a new Avengers: Endgame trailer (click here to see it), Marvel also released a new poster, one that features most of the cast. And that was when the trouble began.

After the poster image was released, fans noticed that only one cast member featured on the poster didn’t get their name listed above the title. Danai Gurira, who plays Okoye, did not get her name placed along the top of the poster, although 12 other cast members did. Not only is the Black Panther actress the only cast member featured on the poster who does not get top billing, she is the only black woman in the main cast.

Here is the poster, along with a close-up of the cast billing, with Gurira noticeably absent.

Needless to say, some people were not happy over the slight.

After the outcry, Marvel acted quickly, adding Danai Gurira’s name to the top of the poster.

As of Thursday evening, Gurira had not commented on the situation.
