Something Looks Off With the New ‘Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker’ Poster

At D23 this weekend in Anaheim, Lucasfilm unveiled a new poster for Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.

The poster, however, left many with questions.

Here’s the poster that was released, which features Rey and Kylo Ren fighting on what appears to be wreckage of the Death Star, with the Emperor looming overhead.

While the image of Rey and Kylo is fantastic, people are asking why the Emperor looks non-realistic. He has an animated look, almost like a Pixar character.

An image circulating on the internet may have figured it out: the Emperor’s image is possibly a photoshopped picture of his Hot Toys 12 inch figure.

Lucasfilm has described titled the poster as an “artisitic” poster, which may explain the style choice.
